CAHURAST demands end to impunity

KATHMANDU: Campaign for Human Rights and Social Transformation, Nepal (CAHURAST) has urged both the signatories— government and the then rebel group to follow Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) to end the flourishing impunity in the nation. Issuing a press statement on Monday, CAHURAST informed about the proposal endorsed by its recently held third general convention on February 18. The organisation has also expressed solidarity towards the ongoing protest against violence against women and also the government to be more serious and sensitive to bring an end to VAW. CHAURAST has also urged the political parties to complete constitution drafting process, to conduct election of local bodies, to publicise the situation of disappeared people and provide compensation to the families of those who went missing during decade long conflict.
